Who we are
The Chemical & Specialties Management Council (CSMC) was founded in 1965 to help chief executives of chemical and specialty manufacturing companies work through their most challenging decisions. In this business, the CEO is ultimately responsible: the one who must have the right answer at the right time. Leading a specialty chemical company today is especially demanding, as new questions and problems constantly compete for the CEO’s attention.

When facing tough questions, a CEO naturally turns to their network. But it can be hard to find a non-competing peer who will keep confidences and whose experience truly fits the problem at hand. That’s where the Chemical & Specialties Management Council comes in.
How it works
Members lead non-competing companies, so they can talk openly about the decisions that matter most.
No two member companies compete, so conversations stay open and confidential.
Each member company sends one voting representative: an owner, CEO, COO, or primary decision maker.
Facility visits with plant tours in February and May, and an annual fall meeting.
Members
The privately held chemical and specialty manufacturers that make up the Council.
Membership
Owners and CEOs of privately held chemical and specialty manufacturers with $500K–$100M in revenue are eligible to apply.
